Hi, I’m dave

I'm a South Asian therapist and adult child of immigrant parents.  People often describe me as empathetic, thoughtful, grounded, and with a good sense of humor.  My journey to becoming a social worker and therapist came down to values alignment, namely social justice and the importance of relationships.  Though I found my calling, I was frustrated that therapists throughout my adulthood didn’t understand my struggles as a person of color and child of immigrant parents.

You deserve to have a therapist that helps you feel safe and understood. That’s why my mission as a therapist is to help you access the most resonant healing possible. I strive to provide trauma-informed, culturally-responsive care with an anti-oppressive lens. We contain many layers and I’m here to honor all the unique parts of you. I enjoy working with BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, & People of Color), Asian-Americans, and the South Asian diaspora.

I’ve come to realize the significance of embodied healing, the type of healing and connection that lasts. I primarily use a somatic (brain/body), mindfulness-based, relational approach toward healing. I'm committed to sharing a warm and inviting space that honors your wholeness, authenticity, and expansion. As you take this next step, I look forward to being a collaborator and guide along your healing journey.

“I started seeing Dave virtually during the height of the Covid pandemic in 2021 a few months after I lost my father to cancer. I had so much anger, denial, and sadness. Dave helped me to deal with my grief and vent my emotions in a healthy manner. Not only did his sessions make me feel better, but he cultivated mindfulness practices during the sessions to recognize my feelings and not just address the symptoms.”
