Over the last 15 years of practice, I’ve had the honor to witness what approaches bring transformative healing and change. I’m confident in my use of a somatic, mindfulness-based, relational approach toward healing.
Why somatic? Whether it’s from oppressive systems or relational challenges, we know that “the body keeps the score” when it comes to trauma and stress. By tending to the body in therapy, we’re able to gently open up and heal the nervous system.
Why mindfulness? It simply means awareness of the present moment. When we pay attention to what’s happening moment-to-moment in session, we’ll be able to create some spaciousness between your thoughts, feelings, and sensations.
my techniques
-
Brainspotting
Brainspotting is a powerful model that activates parts of the brain that move toward healing trauma and stress. We’ll use focused mindfulness to access deeper healing in the brain and body.
-
parts work
The TIST (Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment) model will help you get in touch with the protective and vulnerable parts of you. We’ll use it to strengthen your authentic self while tending to wounded parts trapped in survival mode.
-
sensorimotor therapy
Sensorimotor Therapy is a somatic therapy model. We can tend to your nervous system through somatic resourcing like breathing and grounding practices. We can also use this approach to process trauma and stuck patterns in the brain and body.
